Authorities are contemplating charges after a duo fled a traffic stop on Sullivan’s Island, leading to their detention.
Over the weekend, Sullivan’s Island police found themselves in pursuit of a pick-up truck that was reportedly being driven erratically. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver chose to ignore the order and sped away. Following the vehicle’s abandonment, both the driver and passenger attempted to escape on foot.
The situation unfolded further when the passenger was intercepted near a popular local restaurant, Poe’s Tavern. The driver, however, was apprehended later, thanks to a meticulous K-9 search. Both individuals involved in the incident were taken into custody, as confirmed by Police Chief Glenn Meadows.
