The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the northbound lane near Magnolia Plantation in Charleston County. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene by emergency responders. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is currently withholding the driver’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
