A driver died after a pickup truck left the roadway and struck a tree along Highway 61 near Magnolia Plantation in Charleston County late Tuesday night.
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. — A driver died late Tuesday night after a pickup truck left the roadway and crashed into a tree along Highway 61 near Magnolia Plantation.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes. The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
Emergency crews from the Charleston Fire Department, Saint Andrews Fire Department, and Charleston County Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash.
Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office at 843-202-1700.
